Since graduating from Southern Methodist University with her Master of Science in Counseling in 2016, Bryna has been passionate about working with children and teens as they walk along their grief journey after losing a loved one or experiencing non-traditional grief such as divorce, ending of relationships, and loss of a pet. Recently, Bryna has been expanding her repertoire to include helping women who have experienced miscarriages and fertility challenges. Outside of the realm of grief, Bryna loves working with kids and teens who have anxiety, ADHD, depression, school challenges, and parenting skills with parents.
During sessions with children, Bryna uses a child-centered play therapy approach to help children be able to use their most comfortable form of communication - play. She firmly believes that a child’s words are their toys, and they talk to us through their play. Currently, Bryna has a virtual playroom where she has been working with children online throughout the pandemic. With all ages, she enjoys helping her clients process and work through their feelings through art therapy.
Bryna’s passion is providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where people are able to begin healing their lives and relationships. Bryna uses a person centered, experiential approach with warmth and rapport as the corner stones of her practice.
In addition to being a therapist with Curis, Bryna serves as the host of the Curis Functional Health Mindset Monday webinar series. Outside of the office, Bryna is on the board for the Relational Therapists of Dallas and is the Program Manager for Journey of Hope, a local grief support group for kids and their families.
