Kendall Chambers is a licensed professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, and life coach. She works with individuals, couples, and families. Her specializations are emerging adulthood, eating disorders, body image issues, and relationships. She believes in the profound ability for both our mind, body, and soul to transform in the context of our relationships with ourselves, our creator, and our loved ones. As a third generation therapist, Kendall pulls upon a wide variety of therapeutic modalities in helping her clients achieve their goals.

Kendall recognizes that each individual is unique and therefore her therapeutic approach is uniquely tailored toward understanding their personality, attachment style, family of origin, and set of life skills. The goal is that during the therapeutic experience clients discover a deeper understanding of how their working mind integrates with their personality and attachment styles. With self-awareness, clients learn how to apply specific evidence-based skills in order to create new and more effective cognitive and behavioral patterns within the context of their lives.

Kendall relies heavily on neuroplasticity to build resilience in her clients. She aims to change behaviors and redirect thoughts by focusing on the brain- the most powerful organ in our body built to process life experiences. Using a neurobiopsychotherapy approach, Kendall focuses on shifting thinking patterns into a state in which an individual’s basic needs are being met. These needs cover all areas of life, career, relationships, health, fitness, hygiene, community, etc.

Kendall has developed a psychobiological approach to address body image and eating disorder issues from her experience in both an eating disorder and acute psychiatric treatment centers.

She has found a combination of body-centered psychotherapy, family systems theory, ACT, DBT, and EFT especially beneficial for her clients. Her training in Gottman Couples Counseling, an evidence based relational theory, is especially helpful for premarital and marital counseling.  Art therapy and Gestalt therapy have been great resources for her individual and couples work. She utilizes her understanding of the enneagram personality system to provide powerful insight by blending ancient wisdom with modern psychology.
