A native of San Francisco, CA, Shelley received a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University. Shelley is a LPC-Intern under the supervision of Shannon Purtell LPC-S, working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. 

Shelley has worked primarily in Higher Education, providing career counseling and leading wellness workshops. Shelley has also worked for the Alzheimer's Association, seeking appropriate care and services for families, as well as a mental health practicum counselor, providing intake and therapeutic counseling to individuals across the life span.

Shelley utilizes a holistic and client-centered approach to her work, incorporating existential counseling, family systems, and mindfulness techniques. Shelley has a passion for assisting individuals in finding purpose at the core of their existence. Life can be stressful, but with support, compassion, and some laughter along the way, the possibilities are limitless.
