Suzanne Geiger, LMSW
Suzanne is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who loves to help guide her clients in gaining insight into how they can reach their goals. Suzanne believes that developing trusting and genuine relationships with her clients is essential in therapy. Suzanne works to help each client feel safe and secure within their therapeutic relationship.
Suzanne’s prior experience includes working as a therapist in acute care settings within both inpatient and outpatient facilities. Suzanne conducted family therapy, group therapy and taught emotional regulation skills to children and adolescents. Suzanne specialized in working with her clients on distress tolerance, emotion identification, coping skills, mindfulness in dealing with anger, anxiety, self-esteem and depression including issues with self-harm and suicidal ideations.
Suzanne believes in an eclectic approach to therapy and strives to find the right fit for each individual based on what will help them progress and grow. Suzanne believes strongly that the brain is able to change and can be rewired through changes in thoughts and behaviors. Suzanne uses evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), and Mindfulness Based (MBCT) within therapy.
Suzanne is a Prepare/Enrich certified facilitator, which is an 8-week program to help enrich and strengthen couple’s relationships whether dating, engaged, or married. This program also fulfills the requirements for Twogether in Texas, where engaged couples can receive a waiver for the state portion of the marriage license fee by presenting a certificate of completion for the program.
